In this concert celebrating women's music, musicians from the Afghanistan National Institute of Music in Kabul will perform with members of the Orchestra of St John's, playing a variety of Afghan and European works. The programme includes the first performance of Zanane Sarbuland, a piece written specifically for the performers, to celebrate International Women's Day. The concert is part of the Afghan Women's Orchestra Project, a long-running collaboration between the Orchestra of St John's and the Afghanistan National Institute of Music.
