Cornerstone Arts Centre invites you to join our new adult theatre company and explore a wide range of performance techniques. Suitable for keen beginners or experienced actors, working to produce a piece inspired by Amelia Earhart
Cornerstone Arts Centre, 25 Station Road, Didcot OX11 7NE, Tue 10 September - Tue 19 November 2019
If you've ever thought about trying out acting but haven't found the right opportunity yet, Cornerstone Arts Centre may have the answer this autumn. They're launching a weekly course, welcoming total beginners and experienced actors alike, to join the new Adult Theatre Company. By taking part you can learn a wide range of performance techniques, with the aim of producing an innovative show, Air-Heart, which will be performed at Cornerstone next summer. Air-Heart is inspired by the life of Amelia Earhart, who, in 1932, became the first female aviator to complete the dangerous solo flight across the Atlantic Ocean, from Harbour Grace, Newfoundland, to Derry, Ireland - so the story promises to be action-packed. Led by experienced theatre-maker, musician and performer Hattie Thomas, the co-Artistic Director of Smoking Apples Theatre Company, the course will be a fun way to meet new people and learn more about the performing arts.
The course runs over 11 weeks, meaning the fees work out at under £8 per session, and participants are welcome to try a class for free before signing up. This is one of a number of courses Cornerstone are launching this autumn, including writing, photography, painting, dance, stand-up comedy and much more - click
