Oxford Refugee Week

The Oxford branch of an international week-long recognition of the lives of refugees across the world. Takes place 19th -25th June.

Refugee Week is an international week of events to explore some of the issues facing refugees and asylum-seekers in the UK and highlight their many positive contributions to our community.

In Oxford, Refugee Week events provide the opportunity to engage people from all areas of the local community in a dialogue about refugees and asylum seekers and inform people about the obstacles they face within the UK system. It is designed to inform, explore, and embrace the real, everyday contributions made by refugees in our society and the local Oxford community, as well as showing recognition of the difficult lives many refugees are forced to lead.

Most of the fun events below are free or pay by donation, meaning everyone can get involved!

If you'd like to get involved with helping refugees in Oxford, it's worth having a look at the volunteering opportunities at Asylum Welcome and Refugee Resource , two local charities providing for refugees and asylum seekers.
