A Berlin Kabaret!

Lady Gaga meets Brecht in this walk on the wild side of the twentieth century avant-garde!
The Old Fire Station, Fri 20 April - Sat 21 April 2018

Welcome to the Kabaret. Previous winners of Best Cabaret at the Brighton Fringe Festival Sphinx Theatre Company arrive at the Old Fire Station bringing with them A Berlin Kabaret!. Like a cross between Lady Gaga and a Brechtian play this is a show that reflects on modern dilemmas, acting as a response to the current refugee crisis. The show is brimming with songs that included powerful anti-war hymns, long-lost gay rights anthems and American propaganda songs. All of this is told through the prism of the political turmoil of the Weimar Republic, creating a truly fascinating theatrical experience. What else are you going to do on a Friday or Saturday night than take a journey through twentieth-century avant-garde?!

Also worth checking out is the company's afternoon discussion of the role of women in Brecht's work, with guests David Constantine and Professor Tom Kuhn.
