Get active, have lots of fun, and raise funds to help us light up a life. Expect neon lights, fire shows, light displays and much more as we gather under the stars, before you make your way around the City by moonlight. Suitable for ages 10+
Start at Bury Knowle Park, Headington, OX3 9ED
Headington-based hospice Sobell House has been providing care and support to people from all over Oxfordshire to people who face life-threatening illness, death and bereavement, for the past 40 years. Sadly, more and more people require their services, so the charity is looking to expand to meet this increased demand.
They've introduced an exciting new range of fundraising events, building on the popularity of their sponsored Night Walks in recent years. On 20th July, head to Bury Knowle Park for the big finale of the Light The Night series, an after-hours 10-mile sponsored walk around Oxford. Dress in your brightest clothes to help illuminate the route, raising awareness of the brilliant work that Sobell do in the community. There will be lots of surprises along the way, with fireshows and light displays to keep you entertained as you make your way around some of Oxford's most eye-catching landmarks by night.
This event is open to all abilities - you don't have to be super-fit to complete the course! It is open to anyone aged 10+, although children aged 10-16 must be accompanied by an adult. This event is wheelchair-friendly.
If you would like to help make the night a success, why not help out as a volunteer? If you're free on the night and would like more information about volunteering, email Cara, the Sobell House Events Manager, on [email protected]
