Abandon your comfort zone and join us for our sponsored summer sleepout event.
Linacre College, St Cross Road, Oxford OX1 3JA, Sat 6 July 2019
The injustice of homelessness has been particularly striking in Oxford over recent years, and the problem of people being forced to sleep rough has increased as a result of austerity, cutting funding for support of housing and against the root causes of homelessness such as mental health services.
Homeless Oxfordshire and Aspire are two organisations working to help people overcome, and avoid falling into, homelessness. Join them for their annual fundraising extravaganza, the SLEEPOUT, which will see supporters gather for a night under the stars, raising funds to maintain their vital services. With entertainment from the likes of Jericho Comedy and an outdoor screening of Bohemian Rhapsody, live music from Alex Colman and a bedtime story read by Angus Imrie, there will be plenty to keep your morale up as you undertake this sponsored challenge and hear from people whose lives have been changed for the better by these wonderful local charities.
