Oxford's biggest party, Cowley Road Carnival, is all about bringing together the sights and sounds of the many different countries and cultures represented by Oxford’s diverse community, through art, food, music and performance. Virtual Carnival will be no different in that respect, as the team have worked to transport the joy of carnival into your home. 4 different digital ‘stages’ will cover live music, DJ sets and interactive music and dance sessions through Zoom. There will even be a digital procession, allowing people to share their creations and reminisce about past celebrations.

Headliners and favourite local groups set to perform include Ran Kan Kan, Count Skylarkin', Little Brother Eli and the Handy Voices signing choir.

The performances are all free to enjoy, but donations are strongly encouraged, and there's even more incentive to give this year: as well as helping to secure the future of the carnival at what is undeniably a difficult time for the arts, money raised will also support two local mental health charities: Oxfordshire Mind and Restore. As Clare O' Hara, Carnival Director, puts it: "In this most challenging of times, with so many people struggling and needing mental health support, we are delighted to help. We urge anyone who enjoys this unique Virtual Carnival Day to donate if you can."
