I went to this last night. The setting is the upper room at Port Mahon. This was surprisingly effective. The play lasted about one hour - acting superb. More actors than audience - very surreal. So - what's it about?
The whole plot details a murder - in fact a multiple murder, a 17th century sensation. Other key elements:
gambling
riot
The possibility of an immortal enemy....
My suggestion? Read about the play on Wikipedia or elsewhere (google 'Yorkshire Tragedy'). Then go to the play - really! It is well worth it. Then, if you're me on this occasion, go downstairs, eat a good dinner and watch the football. A perfect afternoon/evening!
Note: there was no programme so I cannot comment on the actors - but they all seemed pretty good!
