What brings together Jamie Oliver and Jesus, David Attenborough, George Foreman, 70s TV detective Columbo and Napoleon? - a hysterically funny and surreal exploration of what happens when artist-cum-inventor Leonardo da Vinci goes time traveling, of course.
Gap Year Theatre, a new Oxford-based performance company of four teenagers, present a wonderfully inventive and physically exhausting foray through history as it ought to have been. As imaginative as the artist, as surreal as Monty Python, this is a very funny and cleverly crafted show. The first outing before they go off to drama schools and universities, this is an extraordinary start - the writing (all their own) is clever, the performances assured and the laughs continuous. A must see show... and a local group to look out for in the future.
