Set on a beautiful village green you can either stay in a room above the inn, which are cosy and full of charm or choose a quieter courtyard room (set back from the inn) which have a hint more luxury and are more spacious. Each bedroom has its own private bathroom, flat screen TV, Wi Fi and tea and coffee making facilities. We always try to use as much free-range, organic and local produce as we possibly can when making our dishes. Our beef, which is Aberdeen Angus, is sourced locally from the family farm in Fifield. Our fish is delivered daily from Cornwall and all our smoked food is from Upton Smokery in Burford.

The Lamb & Flag had been operating since at least 1566, situated just south of St John's. In 1613 the college moved the pub to its current site (the old site is today the Dolphin Quadrangle). Though owned by the college, this new site was somewhat further away from the college's main buildings. Since the pub's move, construction of the Sir Thomas White and Kendrew Quadrangles in the twentieth and twenty-first centuries has led to the pub being once again close to St John's activities. St John's took over the management of the pub in 1997, and now uses all pub profits to fund scholarships for graduate students

Your hosts at Majiliss are four brothers, all members of Miah family from the Sylhet region of Bengladesh. For many years they were the team behind the success of the award winning Tiffins Tandoori restuarant in Kidlington. We have organised the menu so as to offer not only the classic dishes that you will have to come to expect, but also over 30 main dishes, many of which are not available in other restuarant. Whether you choose to 'play it safe' or to explore some of the more exotic offerings, you can be sure that your dishes will not only be made from the finest and freshest ingredients, but also cooked to perfection and served with style. However, individual tastes vary, so please do not hesitate to tell us of any special requirements you may have, and we will do our best to meet them.
