An opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated, enthusiastic research nurse or research practitioner to join our team of internationally recognised researchers within the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine (CVM). If successful you will help to lead a novel commercially sponsored clinical trial called ‘Goldilox’. Goldilox is a ‘Phase 2b’ randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial evaluating the safety and efficacy of a new anti-inflammatory drug ‘MEDI6570’ in preventing atherosclerotic events/ heart failure in patients with a history of myocardial infarction. Your role in Goldilox will include the identification and recruitment of suitable study-participants, the co-ordination and care of participants in the trial, assisting investigators/radiographers/cardiac physiologists with study specific assessments eg. CT angiography, echocardiography as well as collecting and documenting accurate data. You will undertake safe, good quality, participant focused research in accordance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines and the Research Governance Framework for Health and Care. As well as this you will primarily work on ‘Goldilox’ but also be available to support other designated research studies (observational and/or clinical trials) and provide assistance or cover for other CVM studies or service needs, where possible and on the direction of the lead research nurse. You will need to hold a Degree in relevant subject e.g. Biological Sciences. Nurse applicants must be registered with the NMC, part 1 (adult). This is a full-time appointment on a fixed term contract for 3 years and you will be based at the University of Oxford Centre for Clinical Magnetic Resonance Research (OCMR) and Acute Vascular Imaging Centre (AVIC), John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford, OX3 9DU.
