Three of us went on the first night and we all loved it. Brilliant singing and orchestral playing and hardly a weak link in the superb cast. The stars of the show were the lovers Nancy (Lila Chrisp) and Sid (Ivo Almond) and, of course, the loner Albert, played by Maximilian Lawrie. Great cameo performances from Superintendent Bud (John Lee) and Will Gedge's Mr Gedge, and the ensemble singing was magnificent. We oldies paid £8 each; you will pay more than ten times that at Covent Garden and not enjoy yourself as much. A fine venue too. It's on for another three nights - go and see it.
