Hidden away in the depths of Headington, you would not expect to find the kind of café-restaurant that could happily grace a street in Paris or Milan, but that is what you get with Café Noir - chique food in a chique setting at non-cheap prices... A perfect place to go on a summer evening as there is plenty of outside seating available (those carbon monoxide fumes complement any meal) - booking is recommended. It definitely falls into the 'treating yourself' category if you decide to go, but the financial pain is more than made up for by the culinary treats that await (sorry I can't provide specifics, as they are clouded by the passing of time, though vegetarians are well catered for, and there is a definite Mediterranean feel to the menu).

Perfect for a romantic evening out. Just one word of advice - don't try to cycle up Headington Hill to get there, take the bus instead.
