Day Four

[A MOUNTAIN
OF NUMBERS]

No-one can remember all those patterns.

Zillions of them.

Eventually they start to make mistakes,

Things start to LOOK WRONG.

And are wrong.

But they cannot say why.

[A LOT OF VERY
UNHAPPY PEOPLE]

The reason is simple:

Because they never used words to explain when things LOOK RIGHT.

Now they cannot use words to explain when things LOOK WRONG.

And so they start to fail - a little; then some more; then all the time.

And they get very angry - with just about everyone and everything.

Surely there must be a better way to do this?

There is: an amazingly simple better way.

It's Albert's way!

Until Albert was six, his mother worried that he must be dim.

His Nanny called him Dopey.

The reason was that he could not put words to his thoughts.

Usually he said nothing.

Often he had to practice what he wanted to say

Before he said it.

For years he had to work like this to turn his thoughts into words.

And by the time he was 21 he was the cleverest person in the world.
