Soundabout started right here in Oxford back in 1995, initially helping school staff working with children and young people with special needs to make music interactively with their pupils. In 2019, the Soundabout Oxford Inclusive Choir was launched, followed by similar choirs launching all over the UK.
Soundabout's mission is to show that everyone deserves to have a voice, using the power of music to help children and adults with with severe and profound learning disabilities to express themselves and unlock their potential.
Throughout 2020, the choir has met virtually, and making connections in this way has been a crucial source of support during a time when people around the country have faced increased isolation due to the pandemic.
This recording is an exclusive teaser of the choir's Christmas release, which will premiere at their Virtual Christmas Concert on 16th December. The choir will perform at the concert alongside a star-studded lineup of supporters, including Jessica Hynes, Sara Cox, and Britain's Got Talent-winning comedian Lost Voice Guy - so if you enjoyed this video, book your tickets now!
