Hanne and Finn Fahl are Waterfahl, a distinctive duo whose sound blends bluesy Americana and traditional Danish influences to create their very own genre, Nordicana.
Since they began playing together in 2014, the Culham-based duo has delighted eager crowds in favourite venues across Oxford - though of course this has been far more limited this year.
The Christmas Show Is On has been made with the help of the whole Fahl family, with additional instrumentals supplied by Simon, Jakob and Kirstine Fahl. The track is currently available to buy on Bandcamp.
We think that the Nordic inspiration draws the mind to snowy scenes, making the catchy track a perfect festive listen. In the band's own words:
A lighthearted Christmas song about the anticipation, all the plans and good intentions leading up to the moment when the visitors are knocking on the door and the whole Christmas show is on with all its hullabaloo and merriment. The anticipation of seeing loved ones is especially strong this year as many of us will be welcoming home family members we haven't seen for a long time.
