Oxford Philharmonic Orchestra

A plethora of Christmassy delights today, courtesy of Oxford Philharmonic Orchestra.

For over 20 years, Oxford Philharmonic Orchestra have been responsible for bringing world-class musicians to Oxford and filling the city's iconic venues with beautiful music.

Although their programme of live concerts had to be cancelled this year, the orchestra have continued to bring innovation and inspiration to people in the form of their #OPAtHome series, including digital music workshops for children and streamed and filmed concerts.

From this evening (Friday 18th December) the orchestra are treating audiences to a very special concert for free on their Youtube channel. From 6.30pm, you'll have an exclusive chance to hear the brand new composition from John Rutter, 'Jospeh's Carol', which is dedicated to Oxford's coronavirus vaccine researchers.

The orchestra will be joined by Merton College Choir, Classic FM's John Suchet and a constellation of star guests, performing in tribute to the Oxford Vaccine Group, the Jenner Institute, the RECOVERY team, and all volunteers involved in the search for a COVID-19 vaccine. Be sure to tune in here! Or click here to find out more.

If you enjoyed these pieces, you can show your support to Oxford Philharmonic Orchestra by buying gift vouchers and CDs in their online shop, or by making a donation.
