Harcourt Arboretum, Nuneham Courtenay OX44 9PX, Sat 21 October 2017
Autumn is, of course, a perfect time to visit Harcourt Arboretum, awash with colour above and rustly of leaf underfoot.
So to tempt you in, and launch half term with a bang, there's the annual Autumn Fair. There's folk music, and local produce available. Children's craft activities include willow-weaving, carving a pencil, and making a bug hotel, and there are woodland stories. It's a real celebration of forests and trees.
Or, if you prefer something quieter, you could just go for a walk.
All this is available for the normal entry fee: Adults £5, children free. If you don't need further persuasion and are already in love with the woods, an annual pass to Harcourt Arboretum and the Botanic Gardens is £18.50.
