It's the cold, dark time after Christmas, when we all need a boost, and what better to get the blood flowing than a grand Scottish gathering? St Columba's often hold a Burns Night celebration. It's part dance, part supper, part open mic.

First off, the traditional supper, with a haggis at the centre. Traditionally the haggis is piped in and serenaded with Burns' famous poem in which it is addressed as the "Great chieftain o the puddin’-race". The haggis should be accompanied by mashed neeps (swede) and potatoes. Irn Bru is less traditional but just as essential, and the whisky will really help to get the dancing going.

Whether you're a Scot in exile, a haggis-lover, or just fancy a fun way to get some high energy exercise, Burns doesn't mind - everyone's welcome at his 259th Birthday.
