This weekend Oxford plays host to Buddhist yogi practitioner Chödpa Lama Rinpoche, whose teachings are rooted in the practices of the well-known Buddhist yogini, Machig Labdron. Rinpoche is from a long line of Ngagpa practitioners and learned healing techniques from his father. Equally skilled in divination, Rinpoche's method, Juthig Mo, was passed down from his father and his grandfather before him. Rinpoche has many years of experience, both from monastic training and numerous retreats, and though he has been based in Canada since 1999, he has toured widely in the US and Europe as well as India and Hong Kong. Fittingly, Rinpoche is the guest of Wolfson College, the only institution in the UK to host a Lecturership specifically focused on Tibetan and Himalayan Studies, and he comes to help members of Oxford's community who seek his healing and teaching. For anyone with an interest in Buddhist meditation and divination, this opportunity is not to be missed.
