Oxford legendary performance space celebrates its 25th Anniversary in style at the Isis Farmhouse.
The Isis Farmhouse, Haystacks Corner, The Towing Path, Iffley Lock, Oxford OX4 4EL, Sat 12 October 2019
The Catweazle club is one of the most famous and longest-running nights of its kind in Oxfordshire and possibly the whole country. Almost every week for the past quarter of a century it has been the go-to spot for performing artists of all kinds to share their new work. Singers, songwriters, storytellers, poets and comedians from Oxfordshire and beyond queue for a chance to perform their latest pieces - the ‘open mic’ format means that the audience can see art in its rawest form. Now approaching a staggering total of around 1300 editions of the night, the Catweazle Club has rightly achieved something of a cult status.
To celebrate their 25th anniversary, they’re throwing a party, open to all fans and previous performers at this Oxford institution. In keeping with the structure of their regular gigs, there are performance slots available - contact founder Matt Sage if you’d like one. And as it’s a proper anniversary, the dress code, naturally, is silver. So get your glad rags on, take in some great performances, and enjoy being a part of Oxford’s unique arts scene.
