This June, Art Jericho Oxford will be hosting Grinning Soul, the debut collaborative show from KGS French and Joe Shaw. The artists will be exhibiting works exploring the nature of the human mind, subconsciousness, and delirium.
Joe Shaw is a young artist based in Oxfordshire. He studied Fine Art and graduated in 2014. He says of his work:
'Studying contemporary drawing, my practice focuses on the relationship between line, colour and mark-making in a conventional space. It is the exploration of these relationships, and what is created in the process, which informs my work. Using a variety of materials and scales I have tried to avoid settling on a medium; therefore, I have been able to maintain a degree of fluidity and serendipity within my practice. I hope to keep exploring the possibilities of different material combinations, thus continuing to grant my work a sense of freedom.'
K G S French lives and works in London. She studied Art and Design for five years, and graduated from London College of Fashion in 2013. She is currently in the process of setting up her own fashion label, and is also applying to study for a masters degree in Painting.
