Picking Carrots
River & Rowing Museum, Mill Meadows, Henley on Thames, Oxfordshire RG9 1BF, Sat 24 June - Sun 24 September 2017
It’s been over 100 years since this naughty wee bunny hopped into being but there’s little chance of him disappearing anytime soon. The River and Rowing Museum’s family-friendly exhibition Peter Rabbit: Mischief and Mayhem promises interactive fun for all ages. You can meet our eponymous hero’s mother in her burrow, assist Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle in hanging up her washing, picks carrots in Mr McGregor’s garden, dress up like Peter or curl up with a book in the story corner. Original artwork, first editions and early Potter merchandise are also on display for those wanting to see the many forms of this famous coney from over the years.
Voted one of the top ten most family-friendly museums in the country, tickets for the museum are valid for 12 months meaning you’ve no excuse not to pop back for The BFG in Pictures exhibition opening in October. While you’re there, why not visit The Sikh Arrangement to explore the traditions surrounding Sikh weddings including first-hand accounts, wedding outfits and musical instruments.
