Waterperry Gardens, Nr. Wheatley, Oxon OX33 1JZ, Fri 6 October - Sun 8 October 2017
Waterperry Gardens is good at celebrating the changing seasons, so it's no surprise they host the Granddaddy of the Oxfordshire Apple Days, and this year it's spread to a whole weekend of activities. They're offering free tours of the Orchards and Fruit Sheds, to see the apples in their native habitat. For this weekend only, if you bring in unknown apples from your garden, you can have them identified by the experts.
Then there's the tasting! Taste samples of apples, and their respective juices produced and sold by Waterperry. Fresh single-variety apple juice is nothing like the boxes of juice sold in supermarkets, and the diversity of flavours can be astounding.
There's also a craft and food fair, and an Apple Anagram garden trail for kids. Usual entrance fees for the gardens apply.
