Howling Half Term!

Enjoy some Shaggy Dog Stories this Chinese New Year at the Story Museum
Events every day from the 10th to the 18th of February at the Story Museum, Oxford

The Story Museum celebrates the turn of the Year of the Dog this half term, with a range of events for everyone to enjoy. So if you want to get your kids out of the house and have some canine literary fun, get yourselves to the Story Museum.

First there is the Baby Boogie on Saturday 10th, as featured in last week's Editor's Picks, where you can put your dancing shoes on and have a waltz with your little one. Perfect for children aged 0-6, this disco includes free face painting so your face will look as funky as your dance moves. Also on Saturday is a chance to meet the author of the Spy Dog series, Andrew Cope, and Lara, the marvellous mutt who inspired the super spy.

On Monday there's a chance to meet another dog, Diggle, as well as Charlotte from Dog's Trust who will explain the best ways to become friends with dogs. Later on there's an interactive story workshop based on the classic novel - and Disney film - 101 Dalmatians.

Tuesday afternoon brings some cracking stand-up comedy suitable for children over 6, and on Wednesday the author of Luna Loves Library Day reads a magical tale. Talking of magic, well done to those who nabbed tickets for Science Oxford's Science of Magic on Thursday before it sold out. It may be worth booking the other events to avoid disappointment.

On Friday the Chinese New Year celebrations are in full swing, with dancing, face painting and more crafts than you can shake a dog's tail at. Then, on Saturday 17th, join puppeteer and author Emma Boor and her wriggly friend for The Adventures of Bookworm.

Finally on both Saturday and Sunday there's another famous dog to meet; Kipper! Hear one of his stories from the horse's - well, dog's - mouth. With so many events going on all week, there's something for all ages and interests.
