To continue the LGBT History Month celebrations, the Pitt Rivers are hosting a special Party at the Pitt to commemorate LGBTQ+ histories through performance, talks, activities and activism. There will be bitesized queer theory talks from academics, including an intriguing lecture entitled 'The Importance of Queer Archaeologists' from Dr Victoria Sainsbury. There's the chance to make your own slogan t-shirt and placard ready for the protest march later in the evening, and there's even an soapbox activism stage with special guests from Molly: Party for Queers, Tales of our City, and Oxford Brookes University staff.
To get the party started there's live music from MC Angel, Kings of Colour, Ginger Tarte, Hannah Rose Kessler, and The Patriarchy - the band, not the social construct. To top it all off there will be a cash bar - hooray! Pop along, pick up a placard and prepare for Oxford Pride (2nd June) in the best way possible.
