School's out and to mark the happy time (or to give parents something to entertain the wee ones) Cornerstone Arts Centre are running a family festival. The line-up includes some classic texts performed with gusto and puppets (The Sagas of Noggin the Nog and The War of the Worlds) as well as more modern tales, such as the epic-sounding Captain Flinn and the Pirate Dinosaurs 2: The Magic Cutlass.

As well as shows there will also be workshop days for 5 to 8 year olds, and a Martian model-making workshop. A highlight of the festival will be the Planet and Stars family science day, which will explore the science of light with free workshops and activities run by astronomers, engineers and scientists.
