Oxford Beer Week

A series of events across the city in participating pubs, clubs and shops to celebrate the amazing diversity of local brewery beers
5th-13th May, various venues across Oxfordshire

There are now over 2,000 breweries in the UK - the highest number on record since the 1930s. Oxfordshire has over 15 breweries nestled within the county, and many of them are joining in a week-and-a-bit-long celebration as part of Oxford Beer Week. This is the chance to enjoy some locally produced ales, craft beers, helles and sours all the while raising money for Helen and Douglas House. With 13 official events (and a handful of fringe fests), including festivals, beer nights and 'meet the brewers' happening over 8 days, you're spoilt for choice.

Kicking off the festivities is the Perch's Beer and Cider festival (5th-7th) where you will be greeted by the Hook Norton shire horses, meet the brewers and attend tasting sessions. Tap Social are combining cold ones with cod (and chips from Howe & Co) and comedians from QED Comedy, while the White Rabbit will be hosting Loose Cannon brewery as they launch their latest brew. To make the week all the more special, the Oxford Brewers Alliance have created a special, limited edition brew called the Oxford Special Bitter. Proceeds from Oxford Beer Week will be donated to Helen and Douglas House.

Here are all the local brewers involved: Loddon, Little Ox Brewery, Loose Cannon, Hook Norton, Brew Dog, Tap Social, Brakspear, Shotover Brewing Company, Cotswold Brew Co, Turpin brewery, XT, OxBrew, Church Hanbrewery, Wychwood, and Hobgoblin.
