I met Annabel for the first time at her trial Run Yoga Swim event. She made sure we were comfortable with the planned run, and gave us options for different distances. Once we set off Annabel reminded us of the benefits of considering sensations in our bodies as we run, a perfect reminder to stop gassing and be present in the moment. My body was very happy indeed to be gently moving on a beautiful sunny day. The run continued at a peaceful easy pace, around Iffley village, stopping look at a grand old Yew tree and church.
We returned to the riverbank, sweating and warm. Fortunately, there was dappled tree cover and warm grass for the yoga session. Annabel gently guided us through movements, giving instructions when needed and allowing us to be mindful otherwise. She has such a peaceful attitude, her presence was part of the charm of the session. My limbs felt rejuvenated and my mind still and joyous after the yoga.
When Annabel mentioned the swim I jumped out of the peaceful revery, ready to cool off and feel the velvety water. As the weather was so beautiful we all chose to swim in our swimsuits - too warm for wetsuits, although Annabel checked carefully that we were all comfortable with the decision. We swam/drifted with the current to Iffley Lock, a beautiful stretch. The options are many for dips, short swims or longer swims. We chose a medium length gentle swim. Unfortunately I had to rush off, missing breakfast. This Run Yoga Swim morning was such a highlight, a relaxing yet active session, that is flexible for different abilities in all three elements. Annabel was delightful and considerate to our needs. I can't wait for another opportunity to do this with her and I will take friends along to enjoy the experience.
