Picturehouse Pop Up

Trio of classic films, screened outside the Ashmolean Museum.
Ashmolean Museum, Fri 6th - Sun 8th July

The Phoenix Picturehouse returns to the Ashmolean with a trio of outdoor screenings. First up is Bugsy Malone, a classic gangster story with an all-child cast. Famously starring a young Jodie Foster, this film contains warring gangsters, speakeasies, splurge guns and custard pies. It is followed by 80s cheesefest Top Gun, the endlessly quotable film which launched Tom Cruise into megastardom. The last film of the weekend is the surprisingly successful The Greatest Showman. Rejected by critics when it was released last Christmas, the film has gone on to be one of the biggest musicals of all time, with its soundtrack spending 19 weeks at the number one spot in the charts.

Doors open at 7.30pm and, light dependent, the film should begin at around 9pm. There will be a cash bar for anyone seeking a beverage. Picturehouse Pop Up really is the perfect marriage of a gorgeous location and cinematic treats.
