Cropredy Festival, or Fairport's Cropredy Convention by its proper name, has been running every year since 1976, and so by now they've got all the details ironed out. Popular with narrowboaters, the festival site has Oxford Canal and the Cherwell running through the centre, and boaters can moor up rather than camp. Campers are well accommodated however, with different fields throughout Cropredy village, which is thoroughly taken over for the weekend.
The musical line-up is impressive, with top folk names on each day, including Brian Wilson, Kate Rusby, The Levellers, and of course the hosts Fairport Convention. If their festival is anything to go by, they're as fairminded as their name suggests.
