Extensive craft fair with stalls, food, and entertainments, in beautiful grounds.
Stonor Park, Stonor, Henley-on-Thames RG9 6HF, Fri 24 August - Mon 27 August 2018
The beautiful grounds of Stonor Park play host to Henley Country Craft Show over the August bank holiday. With lots of things to do, for all ages, it makes an action-packed day out for the whole family.
Some craft fairs are quiet, sedate affairs, with a few artists looking hopefully over their stalls. Not here! There are plenty of stalls, and plenty of dedicated craftspeople, selling clothing, pottery, jewellery, art and homewares. There are also workshops including papermaking, and demonstrations like raku pottery firing. But as well as the crafts for sale there are plenty of other activities too.
To take part in the terrier racing you'll need to bring your own dog (who's welcome everywhere except the food and drink area), but the birds of prey will be provided. As will vintage fairground rides, and archery kit, and over all the Haywood Sisters' vintage doowop will add an air of laid-back class.
What of the food? Fear not - there's plenty of food and drink too. Artisanal stalls will offer delicacies to take home, while food vans keep you fueled on the move, so you can get round those last few stalls. And if you've still got energy left? Buy a combined ticket and go round Stonor House too, and take the kids to the Wild Woods adventure playground. We told you it was a whole day's worth.
