Pegasus Theatre, Magdalen Road, Oxford OX4 1RE, Thu 13 September - Thu 11 October 2018
Emma Boor is an Oxford legend, with her distinctive brand of puppetry, clowning, singing, and postive messages for the world. Her alternative pantos have included Cinderella Green the Recycling Queen and even her Bin Goblins show doesn't seem to put small children off throwing things away.
Her shows are always interactive, but Play the World aimed at 0-5s is especially so. It's a series of weekly sessions, each with a different theme, but featuring Emma's giant furry puppets, as children explore magical play with familiar items. Music, story and gentle clowning create an amazing world to inhabit. Themes include Outer Space, Down Town, Farmyards, and the intriguing Shoe Farms. Plenty of animals and creatures will figure.
Tickets are £5 per person big or small (though babes in arms under 6 months go free), but booking a block of 5 sessions gets you 20% off. If you want to instil a love of theatre in your tiny ones, this is a great way to do it.
