A night filled with hilarity in association with QED Comedy Lab.
New Theatre, Oxford, Monthly: (usually) 2nd Friday of the month from Fri 14 December 2018, 10pm start
Join QED Comedy Lab in partnership with the New Theatre as they bring their distinctive brand of experimental comedy to the very centre of town. Each instalment boasts a unique line-up, specially curated to demonstrate the most interesting and diverse mix of professional and up-and-coming comedians.
QED Comedy Lab have already caught our eye as Oxford's pioneers of balancing hilarious, inventive formats with representation, and solidifying our city's growing presence on the national comedy circuit.
For December 2018, the inaugural show was titled 'Jokes For Women', recognising the date as the centenary of women in the UK first exercising their right to vote. Correspondingly, audiences enjoyed an all-female line-up, sadly a novelty even now.
From that point on, QED have been serving the audience at the Piano Bar an eclectic cocktail of TV-level headliners supported by local favourites, in an atmosphere that's inclusive and supportive - especially given it's late on a Friday night!
Accessibility information: please note the Piano Bar is accessible only by a flight of stairs.
