Introductory workshop on how to set up a community fridge to tackle food waste and food poverty.
Botley Community Fridge, St Peter & St Paul Church, OX2 9JY, Sat 2 February 2019
Learn how to set up an open access fridge stocked with surplus food from local supermarkets and other businesses that is freely available to all members of the community.
This first session will be facilitated by Riki Therivel, founder of Banbury Food for Charities. Having successfully set up two community fridges in Botley and Blackbird Leys, Riki will share what she has learnt and explain the process of setting one up. There will then be an opportunity to meet others in your local area and discuss ideas. The event will start promptly at 10:45, so try and get there by 10.30 to take advantage of the tea and coffee on offer! As there is limited parking, attendees are encouraged to cycle or take public transport where possible.
Contact Anais by email (Anais.bozetine@resourcefutures.co.uk) or phone (07903 037 468).
Those who wish to join the program will then be invited to an induction with Replenish where you'll then receive comprehensive support from Riki in all aspects of setting up your fridge, from building a team and finding a venue to finding suppliers to stock the fridge.
