A family friendly, non-competitive sponsored triathlon over 8Km or a push 2k walk/run .

South Oxford Family Room and Oxfordshire Breastfeeding Support are teaming up for another year for an annual fundraising event the whole family can get stuck into. Whether you're going for the 2km pushchair walk or the 8km triathlon, this non-competitive event will get your heart rate up in support of these wonderful local causes. The events are designed to be as inclusive as possible so they aren't timed and there's no reward for speed: last year, participants in the triathlon ranged from toddler age upward. For all parts of the triathlon, you can choose to do fewer laps of the pool, running and cycling track depending on your energy levels.
The South Oxford Family Room at Grandpont is a community-led project set up in order to continue providing universal services to families as a result of the closure of our local Children's Centre. One of the principle services they provide is professional support and help with infant feeding for new parents: a session that runs all Tuesday morning. This provides vital postnatal support in the community for a large number of families from all over Oxford.
The service is provided in conjunction with experts from Oxfordshire Breastfeeding Support, and to run this service together costs over £10,000 per year. As part of the transition to community-run children's services, Oxfordshire County Council provided some of this funding for the first year of operation only: now they are faced with raising enough money to continue providing this important service.
