Expect high-energy, playful theatre from The PappyShow this weekend. The company have been working with thirty 18-25 year olds for the last three weeks to create the beginnings of a brand new piece of work called Wait Til the End. The show won't premiere officially until July 2020 at New Diorama Theatre in London, but you can catch an early glimpse at The North Wall on 9 & 10 August.
"Wait Til The End tackles death and how we approach it culturally," says Kane Husbands, artistic director of The PappyShow. "It's the one thing we know for certain will happen to us, the one thing we all definitely have in common but it's so hard to talk about!"
It all sounds like weighty stuff, but The PappyShow aim to make work that explores tricky topics in a fun way. "We've been using dance, ensemble movement, design and puppetry amongst many other techniques to examine death around the world, iconic cultural deaths, our own relationship to death and people we know who have passed away and want to remember," Kane explained.
