Assemble and personalize your own Artist toolbox in a practical two-hour workshop.
OVADA Warehouse, 14A Osney Lane, Oxford OX1 1NJ, Sat 17 August 2019
THIS GIRL MAKES is a multi-dimensional project that started as a blog in October 2016 by founder Harriet Poppy Speed. Taking inspiration from the THIS GIRL CAN movement, the initiative celebrates women in the craft and design industries, in pursuit of removing the outdated view of gendered job roles. It also strives to educate and inspire a new generation of makers, as well as highlighting how making can provide women with resilience and independence.
In this practical two-hour workshop, open to all and hosted by THIS GIRL MAKES, you can assemble and personalise your own toolbox, to contain all you need for your future creative projects. This session provides all the materials you'll need, and offers a great opportunity for anyone interested in learning more about woodwork and craft in a relaxed, creative environment.
Young creatives (aged 5+) are welcome to attend, although it is important to note that under-18s must be accompanied by a responsible adult for the duration of the workshop.
Booking in advance is essential. To reserve your place please email: classes@ovada.org.uk by 12th August, 6pm.
Please note: the classes are normally held in OVADA's first floor learning space, accessed via stairs only. If this would prevent you from attending, please contact the venue in advance to discuss individual requirements.
