The Christmas Light Festival has grown every year since it began in 2009, and for its tenth year it promises to be bigger than ever: a 3-day extravaganza of no fewer than 100 events, showcasing a variety of talents, all united through the exploration of light. Expect a multisensory experience from hubs at Gloucester Green, Broad Street and Bonn Square.

This year's theme is 'Discovery', so alongside seeing some of your favourite venues displayed in unusual ways, you can expect to use all five of your senses to learn something new. The signature lantern parade will feature everything from rockets and UFOs (in a nod to the 50 year anniversary of the moon landings) to deep sea creatures, while you can also discover the diverse range of cultures to which Oxford is home, and the thriving community groups whose talents will be on display, through striking pop-up art installations, parties, outdoor performances from local choirs, bands and theatre groups, and art workshops. There are four trails to follow, designed to help you navigate the many events according to your interests, so head to the festival website to plan your route, whether to catch the best light installations on the Light Trail, family friendly fun on the Family Trail, live performances on the Live Trail, or workshops and talks on the Discovery Trail.
