Worth The Weight Vintage Kilo Sale

7 tonnes of men and women's retro fashion, to buy at £15 per kilo. Exclusive and cheap.
Oxford Town Hall, St Aldate's, Oxford OX1 1DP, Sun 8 March 2020

Becoming ever-more aware of the ecological consequences of fast fashion, many people are turning to vintage shopping for an alternative that often ensures a more distinctive style, as well as a reduction in waste. Embrace the inspiration of classic designs of the past at this one-day extravaganza at the Town Hall, where you'll be able to rummage amongst seven tonnes of clothing and accessories, which has been lovingly hand-picked by the event's organisers. They have been running events like this in towns across the UK since 2008, so they are well-versed in supplying would-be fashionistas (and fashionistos?) with distinctive pieces. The sale operate with a weigh-and-pay system: it’s £15 per kilo of stuff, so lighter garments can work out as less than £1 per item. At the other end of the scale, single items are treated as no heavier than a kilo, so you could get your hands on a very reasonably-priced coat.

The sale offers a mixture of men’s and women’s styles, and the Town Hall is fully wheelchair accessible, ensuring a fun day of bargain hunting for all.
