Ritual Union 2017

35 indie heroes in one day across Cowley Road.
Various venues, Sat 21 October 2017

At this October's indie all-dayer, the O2 is where Oxonians get to be headliners - Willie J Healey, The August List and Candy Says join forces. Rounding out that line-up are Black Honey (awesome Izzy Baxter and her Brightonian gleam-rock compadres) and Peace... who are, to a degree, Suede reincarnated. Don't miss on the happenings upstairs, though, as Neu!-esque sci-fi merchants The Vryll Society prog it up, and Japan's finest noise-rock comes courtesy of Bo Ningen.

Meanwhile at the Bullingdon, Pinkshinyultrablast imagine a world where 4AD are in charge, coating every available surface with dream-pop; Ulrika Spacek imagine what would happen if Television came not from the wasted glamour of CBGB's but from Dalston. Truck Store host a trio of acts including glorious ambient acoustic and Sigur Ros-esque soundscapes from Eyre Lew, and the Library packs cobweb-blasting acts into its basement. How can you resist? It boasts garage rock from Bristol's Van Zeller and Camden's Calva Louise, the hazy jangle of Her's, and... whatever Swedish Death Candy are.
