Alice's Day

Join us for our annual citywide celebration of all things Alice in Wonderland on Saturday 6 July!
Oxford City Centre (various venues), Various venues around the City Centre - see individual events for details. OX1 1ET, Sat 6 July 2019

Oxford's famous Alice's Day returns for 2019, with the usual roster of fantastic, family-friendly events. Taking place all around Oxford, there's storytelling, crafting, walks and tours, dressing up and much more. Young visitors can take part in the Ashventure gallery hunt at the Ashmolean, use their creative skills at the Big Make at the Story Museum, or listen to stories at The Pumpkin on the lawn of the Museum of Natural History. There are author talks from Robin Stevens, Patrice Lawrence and Amy Wilson, and performers appearing around the city, including the Bouncing White Rabbits - but watch out for the Dodo-riding Queen of Hearts, as she might call for your head! Older visitors might be interested in the Lewis Carroll Society's lectures, including ones on Alice's connections to climate change, adventure books and advertising.

The majority of Alice's Day events are free, and suitable for children of all ages - those with an age limit or a ticket price are listed. The one-day annual festival is co-ordinated by The Story Museum, who are using their literary expertise to make sure that it's just as exciting and engaging as previous years. The theme of this year's festival is Time, so make sure you're not late for this very important date!
