Folk Weekend Oxford 2021

A jam-packed online line-up guaranteed to delight music fans and brighten these last weeks of lockdown restrictions
After the success of the 2020 festival, brought online at the last minute, Folk Weekend Oxford returns in 2021. There is the usual mix of national and locally based artists, with headline sets from Spiers & Boden (Friday 16th April), Martin & Eliza Carthy (Saturday 17th April), and Mad Dog Mcrea (Sunday 18th April), and gigs from other luminaries of the contemporary folk world such as Faustus, Jackie Oates & Megan Henwood, Kathryn Roberts & Sean Lakeman, Naragonia and Hannah James & Toby Kuhn. Oxford-based folk legend Peggy Seeger talks about her life and unique perspective on folk music, social change and social justice. Peggy is a singer of traditional Anglo-American songs and activist songmaker. Her career spans from the 1950s to the present day and she has recorded 23 solo albums, participated directly in more than a hundred others and recently published First Time Ever: A Memoir. Ticketed events will take place via Zoom plus over 30 hours of music streamed from our Facebook page, regular video drops throughout the weekend on our YouTube channel, and sessions on all three days on our dedicated session channel.
