Love him or hate him, there are few directors like M. Night Shyamalan. He has spent his career shaping twisty thrillers that often capture the zeitgeist's attention. Glass marks a sequel to two of his better films, the underrated and ahead of its time Unbreakable and Split, featuring a magnificent performance from James McAvoy. McAvoy is back as are Unbreakable's Bruce Willis and Samuel L. Jackson. There is also room in the ensemble for Anya Taylor-Joy (who is brilliant in the likes of The Witch and Thoroughbreds) and Sarah Paulson (who is brilliant in, well, everything). With enough callbacks to previous films and an ending that promises to pull the rug from under viewers' feet, Glass should be catnip for all Shyamalan fans and a curious watch for any one who likes a superhero movie.
