The Rise of the Planet of the Apes - first time I've seen a prequel before the main film. All the way through, the film alludes to the next movie which I assume must be Planet of... As to the film - well I suppose it's progress to use cgi monkeys/apes over the rubber masks worn by Charlton Heston in the 70s originals, and there is some exciting cinematography but without giving the plot away... this film is summer fodder to keep pre-age rioters off the street. I think it's fair to assume that our high brow newspapers were having a laugh when they gave this movie 4 stars.
