Job Title: Wellbeing Officer. Hours of work: 1 FTE. Type of Contract: Fixed Term (12 months). Salary: Grade 9: £35,785 - £39,955. Location: Headington, Oxford. Who is Ruskin College? The role of Wellbeing Officer is a key role in contributing to a professional and specialist support system for Ruskin Colleges students. There are three main aspects to the role. To provide advice and guidance to support students with disabilities, specific learning differences, mental health difficulties and long term medical conditions. To provide Welfare support for those students who maybe in crisis/distress and the Designated Safeguarding Lead for the College. The post holder is expected to improve communication and proactively work with the student community, and departments to foster engagement with, and an understanding of, services provided from Wellbeing/Welfare. This appointment requires a flexible approach to working hours and on occasions assist in other areas of the Student Services remit. The role of Wellbeing Officer will report into the Student Services team of the University of West London. As well as providing direct advise and support to students, the role will signpost students to wider services available from the Student Services Team of UWL. What do I need to apply? Successful applicants must have: A graduate level qualification or equivalent and be able to provide evidence of training and continuous professional development in a range of disability matters, Trained at Level 3 Designated Safeguarding Lead, Substantial experience of working in the education sector advising students with disabilities, especially Specific Learning Difficulties, mental health, An in-depth understanding of safeguarding legislation with previous experience as a safeguarding lead, Hold exceptional crisis management, Organisational and communication skills, Be comfortable with being line managed remotely from the University of West London Campus in Ealing.
