In the grounds are the remains of the medieval castle that once stood here, now just a fortified tower is left.

Autumn colour: in the Arboretum, autumn colour is provided by several specially chosen trees. Liquid Amber (known in the US as sweet gum) turns deep crimson black in late summer, and then progress through a full range of yellows and reds in Autumn. Acers go a deep red towards the end of September, and Arbutus (the strawberry tree) has bright red berries and curling branches. To get the kids out of the house into the Autumn sun, Grey's Court has a special den-building area. You can build dens large enough to sit in, or tiny ones for fairies at the base of the trees.
