David Cameron's old college. The name derives, apparently, either from a brass door knocker in the shape of a nose or from the archaic "brasen huis" - "brewing house". Which is more likely? It was founded in 1509, with the college library and current chapel added in the mid-17th century. Brasenose is home to one of the oldest rowing clubs in the world, Brasenose College Boat Club.
