OXSRAD is a fantastic and unusual resource. It describes itself as a "welcoming place where all abilities come together to enjoy sports and recreation". OXSRAD stands for Oxford & District Sports and Recreation Association for the Disabled, and is open and welcoming to all. It is a social hub if you want to meet people and eat cake, has a full gym and classes for a range of abilities and fitnesses, has a sensory room and a spa bath with disabled shower and hoist. Various rooms can be hired for social events. Especially rare and interesting are the Aerial Silks classes - probably the closest you can get to Circus training in Oxford. After an accident, they offer one-on-one rehabilitation gym sessions. Almost all the gym equipment is adapted so people in wheelchairs can get the most out of sessions. There are a range of fantastically reasonable membership options (many cost less per year than other gyms per month) and it's even cheaper for anyone on benefits. You can also use some facilities without paying a membership fee.

Member since August last year. It's more than just an integrated gym. Great atmosphere and friendly staff and I was made to feel welcome from the start. It's been a vital part of my recovery.
