The organiser says:
The show has sold out entire month long runs 3 years in a row at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. It has also toured internationally selling out runs across Canada and Off-Broadway in New York City all the while receiving awards and critical acclaim including numerous five-star reviews.
It has profoundly affected audiences but more importantly, beyond the stage, this show is also a cause. Through donations — including 100% of all artist fees — Tomatoes Tried to Kill Me But Banjos Saved My Life has raised over $1.2 million (CAD) for cancer organizations, music programs, community groups, and artist development initiatives. Proceeds from performances at the Old Fire Station will directly benefit the theatre in support of creating and producing new theatrical work.
